Accordion & AI PHYSIS
Physis is a sonic triptych. Three pieces inspired by three elements of nature: water, earth, and air. TEXIS-ETHOS-VOMVOS
Each piece reflects the natural essence and its relationship with the artificial. Physis is an avant-garde musical project that fuses the accordion with artificial intelligence.
It emerges from the collaboration with musicians and AI developers Félix Pastor and Enric Guaus. Edurne Arizu uses the nanAI algorithm to improvise live while performing her accordion compositions.
This album is a snapshot of one of these improvisations, recorded at the studio of musician and producer Marc Parrot, Gravacions Silvestres, in January 2024.
The artistic collaboration extends to the involvement of visual artist Rachel Demetz and artist Airel Muñoz.
Physis was presented as a new work during the 2024 Hipatia Award ceremony at the Barcelona City Hall. The award was given by the European Academy Barcelona Knowledge Hub to Nuria Oliver.
